Zoë Markham

“I draw my favorite things from memory as much as possible, it adds this dreamlike feel to the art when I am left to improvise.”

It all starts with inspiration…

Nature has been a root in her life since childhood. At a young age, her family moved from Los Angeles to the lush greenery of New Hampshire. In Portsmouth, where she was raised, the local school systems noticed her artistic abilities and gave her constant encouragement. Today, she has formulated techniques that merge her two loves- earth and art. Her acrylic and oil paintings give you the sense of serenity felt when gazing unto a surreal landscape. The intricate details catch your curiosity, while her color use tells a dreamy story. Zoë’s nature made creations blend modern art and historical mythology into the coastal home. With an aesthetic towards detail, since 2006 she has been refining the ordinary Atlantic clamshell. Breathing fine art onto them, experimenting with materials to make historical scenes and creature portraits. Markham focuses on reinventing her creativity and evolving her different disciplines. Seeking to captivate every viewer by provoking a deeper awareness and appreciation of their natural environment.
